Well, your voice already sounds rather distinctive to me. I came to notice, as a journalist, that sometimes when I write a story (a real-life one, that is) I forget about “having to have a voice” because the subject matter tones down the need for it. I feel certain things need to be said, and that's it. I used to be obsessed with style and sophistication so much that it actually prevented me from writing. I adored Nabokov; and that's one sure to stop anyone from writing a single line. Now I find writing somewhat mechanically very liberating. I had to let go. And okay, this is my last comment from a streak of three, I promise. For now.
